This week we have been exploring the Destiny Search feature.  After you complete the class assignment, comment in this blog.  In your blog comment share your opinion  about our new search tool.

You may now comment without an email address.  I (Mrs. Kraut) still must approve the comment before it is posted in the blog.

Sign your comment with your first name, last initial and room number only so you can get credit for doing the assignment.

Moving Along!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments!

This is going to be a very exciting year at Eden Gardens. We will be reading, researching, doing projects and enjoying learning so many things.

Our new automation system is up and running. Here is the link to the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog). A parent came in today and fixed the computer in room 30 so you can use OPAC when we meet in room 30.

The Tale of Despereaux

The sixth grade classes have been listening to and thinking about the book, The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo.  This book won the Newbery Award in 2004 and is soon to be released as a movie.  We hope to read the book before the movie is released.

Listen to this MP3 file and respond with a comment.

The Tale of Despereaux – Chapter 3

The selection ends with this quote “Reader, you must know that an interesting fate (sometimes involving rats, sometimes not) awaits almost everyone, mouse or man, who does not conform.”

What fate do you think awaits Despereaux?
